Norwegian culture, traditions, and heritage

Here we are in the month of February. My dad used to say, "When February comes along, we're on a downhill slide to spring!" I hope that's true this year.
This my first greeting to you, as lodge president. I hope that I can do as good a job as the presidents before me. I will need your support and feedback, as I look forward to serving Grønnvik Lodge and doing the best I can.
Our January banquet was a very pleasant evening at the Rite Place where we shared a very tasty meal which ended with those yummy little desserts. Takk to Bob Olson who put together a beautiful set of Norwegian photos set to peaceful Norwegian music. We enjoyed good attendance at this enjoyable evening.
Please note that our Feb. eeting begins at 6:30 p.m. We’re having a kveld souppe matt ( evening soup meal) featuring a couple of soups, hearty breads and desserts. We will be looking for two members to be delegates to the up coming convention in June. I know I will be unable to attend, so see me if you are interested.
Our meeting also includes the installation of officers. Diane Overby, District 5 board member from Sister Bay, will assist with the installation and the welcoming of new members. We want photographs so hope that all can attend.
We are again asking members to bake cookies and bring them to the February meeting for the Barnebirke. Diane Overby will deliver them for all the children to enjoy. This a project of District Five lodges.
Ha det fra na! (so long for now)
